Programs, Events, and Field Trips

Prairie Loft offers a variety of programs for the general public and specialty groups (schools, clubs, service organizations, etc). Activities include educational workshops, field trips, presentations, cultural events, facility rental, and community gatherings.

PUBLIC EVENTS TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE! When you come, please consider carpooling. Due to the nature of the site and variety of visitors, we do not allow visitors to bring dogs or other pets. By attending activities on site, you agree to be photographed and/or filmed and give Prairie Loft permission to use your likeness in promotional and/or educational materials.

Family Outdoor Club

Third Saturday of each month, 10:00-11:30am

Outdoor activities geared toward kids ages 2-8 with their grownups. Outdoor exploration, art activities, take-home projects, and more. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get a little messy! $5 suggested donation per family per Saturday.



Sunday, April 22, 2018  |  1:00-6:00pm

A celebration for the planting season. Fun for all ages! Sheep shearing demos, wagon rides, farm animals, demonstrations, music for kids, food trucks, art vendors, take-home activities, and more. Free admission! 


Flatwater Music Festival

June 29 & 30, 2018

A festival of music, culture, and community. Live music, kids’ activities, workshops, food, vendors & more! $10 daily admission, kids under 10 free.



Sunday, October 7, 2018  |  1:00-6:00pm

Honoring our area’s heritage and future. Farmers market, hayrack rides, farm animals, agriculture demonstrations, food & fun. Free admission!

Women, Wine & Wilderness

Scheduled Quarterly Watch our Facebook page for the next event!

Connect with nature and each other through conversation and shared experiences, including a delicious & healthy meal plus wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Women ages 21 and older are invited to join us. Pre-registration required.

Summer Camps


Outdoor Kids Camp

Ages 3-6  |  Summer 2018 (Dates TBA)

This camp is for children ages 3-6 who love to explore and learn! Daily themes are Animals, Plants, and Farm & Food. Activities include free choice time, lessons, stories, outdoor exploration, healthy snacks, and creative take-home activities. 

Jr Farmers

Junior Farmhands Camp

Ages 7-10  |  Summer 2018 (Dates TBA)

Dig in to experience the cycles and systems of life on a farm. We’ll explore soil, water, plants, insects, and the process of growing food. Get creative through art, craft and journaling projects, and storytelling.

Grandparents Camp

Ages 4-10  |  Summer 2018 (Dates TBA)

Day camp for grandpeople with their grandkids to create, explore and learn together! 

School Field Trips

We offer programs for all ages to schools, summer programs, homeschool groups, and other educational organizations. All classes are hands-on and active, with a variety of activities in every session. Activities may include team building activities, nature hikes, art projects, farm to table, animal studies, exploration of gardens, fields, and pasture, and more.
